Rikaichan 1.00

Changes in 1.00...
  • Firefox/Thunderbird 1.0 is no longer supported.
  • Pressing the "A" key while the popup is displayed allows you to move the popup to the upper-left or lower-right of the screen.
  • Pressing the "C" key while the popup is displayed copies the contents of the popup to the clipboard.
  • Pressing the "S" key while the popup is displayed saves the contents of the popup to a file.
  • A "brute force" search of the dictionaries is now possible in the LookupBar. This is slow, but does allow you to perform, for example, simple English -> Japanese searches, and partial word searches. Asterisk * (narrow or wide) may be used before or after the word to indicate that the text may begin with anything or end with anything. A more complex regular expression can be used if you type : (colon) before the expression.
  • Updated icons, thanks to Mark James's icon collection (http://www.famfamfam.com/).
  • New color schemes.
  • More customizable options.
  • Lots of internal code cleanup and voodoo.

rikaichan 0.5.13

Submitted by jon on Wed, 2006-09-13 07:27. :: |

rikaichan is a popup Japanese-English/German/French/Russian dictionary for Firefox and Thunderbird.

Changes in 0.5.13:
  • The enter key can now be used to switch between the dictionaries. Thanks to Charles for the hint on how to make it finally work on a Mac. :)
  • The kanji display is now configurable.
  • Fixed a problem in preferences that prevented the display of some options.
  • Fixed version information to make it work on Firefox 2.0b2+.
The dictionaries have also been updated to fix the version information, and while I'm there, I've updated the data using Jim Breen's 2006-09-13 dictionary files.

After a few changes to the Remembering The Kanji Flash Cards template, and thanks to Wikipedia's Hepburn Romanization article (and the inventor of copy & paste), we now have the Hiragana & Katakana Flash Cards.

This printable PDF includes the standard hiragana, katakana, and the extended katakana syllables - 249 flash cards in 21 double-sided pages.
